Chromecast Two

Yes, I had been planning on sharing these images of the “unboxing” of the Google Chromecast for a while now and had promised a few people I would do this ASAP. Well, a month or so later, here it is…

And the reason for writing it now, I just got my second one for the other TV in our house. It has been the best $35 spent in technology in a long while for me. Simple and usable. I am a fan on so many levels.

Let’s put it this way, receiving the first of my Chromecast’s was like Christmas, the second that just came a week ago was like a birthday surprise. There simplicity of setup, use, and enjoyment is great. I bought both of my Chromecast’s from the Play Store. The packaging came like so: chromecast box

chromecast chromecast features chromecast unboxing chromecast the product chromecast it's here chromecast what is inside

The set up was extremely simple as well. Honestly, you just go to one link while on your WIFI and it finds the ChromeCast, connects, lets you name it, and then set your preferences for it. Truly, that easy of a process for this. I have those screenshots as well but didn’t know if it would make anyone want it more. So, after one month with this, I finally received my second one and did the same thing. Setup took around 5 minutes from start to finish. It is a must to have in your house. Though, if you have an Apple TV, there really isn’t a reason to get this. But, if you don’t have one, this is the product to have!chromecast plugged in chromecast live

So, what do you all think of it? Have you seen it’s capabilities and features? Would you use one? Do you have one? I will be writing an article about this vs the Apple TV soon as well but would love to hear your thoughts prior!

Inspiring TED Talks to See

Sometimes you may need a quick “inspiration” and that is what I was looking for. In short, it is simply time to follow my passions of entrepreneurship. I quit my job, finished out my last day on Friday and will be consulting 20 hours a week with the other 20 fully vested into being an entrepreneur. It is time and this link helped!

Continually Learning

Continual education is something to be desired, not simply something you are required to do… Khan Academy gives you that ability to turn education into a desire. Khan takes a moment to encourage folks to keep this same learning desire in their lives in his commencement speech. He made points that makes you want to keep learning from day one, or at least it did for me!

Have you used the Khan Academy? Any videos / thoughts you would want others to check out? What sites do you use to keep learning? What do you recommend?

Working out in the AM?

Recently, I have been trying to analyze why I like working out in the morning. For me, it helps my day ‘go smoother’ and stay more focused. But why?

“If you start exercising, your brain recognizes this as a moment of stress. As your heart pressure increases, the brain thinks you are either fighting the enemy or fleeing from it. To protect yourself and your brain from stress, you release a protein called BDNF(Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor). This BDNF has a protective and also reparative element to your memory neurons and acts as a reset switch. That’s why we often feel so at ease and like things are clear after exercising. At the same time, endorphins, another chemical to fight stress, are released in your brain…”

Until I read this article, I didn’t realize why working out even made a difference with my mindset. Nor did I realize why a simple walk would be so soothing and relaxing for the mind. What do you do as a mental exercise / physical exercise to sooth your day?

Nichole Goodyear

A few months ago I had the opportunity to chat with Nichole Goodyear. And in that conversation, this is what I got:

Being altruistic is a key component to succeeding in the entrepreneurial world.  But, at the same time, an individual needs to be passionate, proven, prominent, and persistent with regards to how a business is run. People who practice these traits are individuals who inspire me.

Recently I chatted with Nichole Goodyear; she fits the criteria of being an entrepreneur/inspiration. Goodyear is known as THE women in new technologies and has exceeded every expectation that anyone has made for her. Yet, last Monday, Goodyear took thirty minutes out of her busy schedule and spent it with me on the phone. Goodyear, I am sure, had hundreds of projects to work on, thousands of phone calls to make, and a million things going through her mind. Yet she stopped and gave me a listening ear, while truly being an advisor to someone who wants to listen and learn. The ability to converse and network with someone like this had an incredible impactful because it made me think…

  • I didn’t just have an opportunity to network; I had an opportunity to think through my own dreams.
  • I had the opportunity to hear the path of a successful entrepreneur.
  • I observed how I could be a mentor for others.
  • I caught the vision of where to watch for new technologies; who are the current business leaders, and so much more.

Goodyear had this altruistic mentality and was willing to chat, help me think, give thoughtful responses, and gave me feedback on the thought processes I have regarding being an entrepreneur. My question now is, how do I move forward to not only take in this knowledge, but also apply it in my future?

You may have been where I am and could shed light on this status. Who have you met that was an inspiration and how did you apply the knowledge they shared?

Google VS Facebook

Google is always willing to make a competition larger than life and is doing so with the action of buying NIK Software. They are competing with Facebook and everyone knows it. Facebook buys Instagram and now Google buys NIK. But the big question is: who will prevail?

Full Article:

My argument is that Google will win simply because of their great ability to make money. They know how to make money from user generated worlds and make money well. While on the other hand, Facebook is truly trying to figure out their own way of profiting from the massive amount of active users. Facebook aims to get users and I think @henketime puts it well, “FB is so lucky to have users that don’t care about making money.” The only reason they focus on money is because of their statue of being a public company. Money has to be a reality to Facebook now. But, Google has a serious edge on figuring out how to profit from user generated technology!

Technology is forever changing but the world is a competition when it comes to web applications. So, who do you think will win? Do you think Google will last longer in the long run or that Facebook will stay strong? Or, is Facebook the next MySpace?

Life is Picking Up

In moments when things seem to get going in a great ‘”rhythm” life comes out of the blue and moves faster. These moments truly test the ability of an individual. Often, I think people overlook the fact that life is a “ride” and one that we can learn a lot from it on a regular basis if we are willing.

There haven’t been many “posts” concerning business, ideas, or theories on life recently on this blog and that is because of a few great changes that have occurred over the past few months that jolted life in an amazing way. But, in every one of these moments I am starting to realize that there are things to be learned in every circumstance. Every moment is only a starting point for the following moments.

But how do we take in every moment to the best of our ability?

I believe that it falls on a way that I do try to “understand”: research – organize – minimize. These there ways that I look at understanding the world can play out in learning from the moments we live through. If we are willing to do the following, we may get more out of what we do in life:

  1. Research – Look into the situation around you and how it is helping you in life, business, friendship, and with life in general.
  2. Organize – Step back and look at the whole picture and organize it.
  3. Minimize – Remember, the generations that are here in these moments are in “information overload” and in many ways, we need to only remember the important moments and keep those learning details only.

Business as a Style

I am starting to realize that business is a means to learn and yet I have more questions then answers concerning the topic. My goal is to know and understand the ins / outs of what we call “business” especially in the area of technology and yet, there seems to be a wall stopping a connection between myself and entrepreneurs of like minds to connect.

There is no “one person” with all the answers but there are a lot of individuals who have a few answers and those are the people I need to meet and learn from. I have questions and I simply want to learn, create the best product, and work with it until it is a billion dollar corporation then, do it again.

As you may know, my tag is simple… Creative – Executing – Ideas. I believe that the creativeness is already here with executable ideas, but finding the best way to execute is making a difficult comeback on a regular basis.

One of the major things I realize is that the “execution” of any idea is the key component. A project that we at Randomly Famous, LLC are working on specifically talks about the difficulty in management to take an idea through to execution.

For some reason this fact makes me truly consider how I’ve taken some projects all the way through and others I’ve only started. If there has to be management consultants that deal specifically with executing ideas, what are they capable that I am not capable of?

This is where my goose chase for entrepreneurs starts… And, where most of my questions are coming from concerning the idea of business. For me at least, there seems to be an overlooked avenue for business strategy execution. There have been a few “posts” concerning this topic but none have sufficiently answered my question.

Here is the simple “action” that I need from you:

  • Tell me in a post below and/or in a backlink to your blog / idea / theory / etc that would help entrepreneurs with execution.
  • Send one entrepreneur to me that would be willing to talk on the phone for 15 minutes.
