It always seems to start when you have a new perspective & questions. With that, I have been going through an intentional effort to clean “life” up and all of the side projects that have been active for years. With a list of six questions, I’ve been able to dialog through decisions and refocus on reading, writing, and learning!
We’ve had some changes to organizations like linkBND, offLabs, and such to better organize the efforts put on daily by my team and I. Though it isn’t always fun to simplify, it is necessary to focus on what really matters. Sometimes I wish I would remember that before starting a new project but my new litmus test revolves around the following questions:
Is it worth it in the long run?
Is there time in the day to take on the new?
Is the problem real or just fun?
Is there a clear outcome hypothesis to test against?
Is there a way to be objective?
Is it something that matches talent, passion, and market?
These questions are helping me focus not just on business but on what clothes I care about and the priorities of life. What questions do you ask often when taking on something new?
